Rocky the Raider Mascot
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The SOU Rocky the Raider mascot is looking for individuals who like to entertain crowds of people through dance, minimal stunting and/or tumbling, sideline performances, and crowd engagement. A mascot uniform is provided and required to be worn at all times while on duty.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Attend home athletic events and cheer, dance, & perform while at events
* Represent the university at various community, alumni, and social events
* Attend cheer/dance practices as requested
* Engage with crowds and fans at all events
* Must participate in social media with video and pictures
* Responsible for helping director with social media content
QUALIFICATIONS
Required qualifications:
* Ability to make a mascot seem alive by using originality, creativity, exaggeration, spirit, dance moves, positivity
* Be enthusiastic and high energy
* Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and attend outside events throughout the week
* Develop, create and execute skits to be performed at events to enhance the experience
* Preserve the identity of the mascot without deviating from established character including body language/mannerisms, attitude, fan interaction
* Work well in a team environment
SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS
* Work may be required on weekends and nights, hours of work may very, work is performed indoors and outdoors (flexibility is a must )
* Work is performed in a mascot uniform that can at times be hot
* Ideal candidate should be in good physical condition
